Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is a professional designation offered by the CFA Institute to financial analysts who complete a series of three examinations and work for at least four years in the investment decision making process. CFA charterholders are also obligated to adhere to a strict Code of Ethics and Standards governing their professional conduct.

CFA : An individual who has passed tests in economics, accounting, security analysis, and money management, administered by the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of the Association for Investment Management and Research. Such an individual is also expected to have at least three years of investments-related experience, and meet certain standards of professional conduct. These individuals have an extensive economic and investing background and are competent at a high level of analysis. Individuals or corporations utilize their services as security analysts, portfolio managers or investment advisors.

For career in Pharmacy, one must pursue wiht science and math subjects at their High School levels. Science classes are good preparation for the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree curriculum. Courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics are especially desirable.

Chemistry is the most common major for pharmacy applicants because the course prerequisites for pharmacy are incorporated into the standard chemistry curriculum. Pharmacy students, however; come from a wide variety of educational backgrounds.

The Pharm.D. degree program requires at least 2-years of specific pre-professional (undergraduate) coursework followed by 3 years of professional study. Pharmacy colleges and schools may accept students directly from high school for both the pre-pharmacy and pharmacy curriculum, or after completion of the college course prerequisites.

According to Britannica Encyclopedia Concise, pharmacy is the science dealing with collection, preparation, and standardization of drugs. Pharmacy revolves around people and medicines with special emphasis on the manufacture of medicines, their supply, appropriate use and effects. The ultimate concern of pharmacy is to ensure that the patient receives the appropriate medicines and benefits from the proper use of these.

Pharmacists, who must earn a qualifying degree, prepare and dispense prescribed medications. The work is interesting and opportunity exists to meet people from all walks of life and a choice of working environments and geographical locations.

Career opportunities in pharmacy are developing fast and pharmacists today can be found in many different settings including high street pharmacies, on hospital wards, in GPs' surgeries, walk-in centres, in industry and at work in universities.

Whatever path chosen, all pharmacists share a common commitment to improving people's lives through medicines and care and making a real contribution to the nation's health.
