MBA (Biotechnology) is an upcoming discipline, integrating Biotechnology and Management. The Department of Management Sciences, University of Pune has pioneered a two year full time MBA (Biotechnology) degree program since 2002 (intake capacity 60 seats), along with its two year full time MBA program running successfully since 1971.

Eligibility: The candidate should have a Bachelor,s or Master,s degree in Science (Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Marine Biology, Microbiology, and Zoology), Agriculture, Ayurved, Medicine, Engineering, Pharmacy, Technology, and Veterinary Sciences from a statutory university.

Reservations: As per the Government of Maharashtra rules, 50% seats are reserved for the SC, ST, DT, NT, OBC category students. 3% seats (2 seats) are reserved for the physically handicapped students as per the Government rules. One seat is reserved for a candidate from the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Please refer to our website for details about the seat allocation.

Selection Process: Candidates seeking admission to this program for the academic year 2008 should appear for the ATMA written test being conducted on February 10th, 2008. Further these candidates should register themselves separately for the GD/PI test conducted by the Dept. of Management Sciences, University of Pune (PUMBA). The details of GD/PI are given in the department�s prospectus. The prospectus can be obtained from the PUMBA office on payment of Rs. 250/- (for open category) and Rs. 150/- (for reserved category) by Demand Draft from January 1st 2008 to April 12th 2008 on all working days between 11.00am to 5.00pm. The prospectus can also be obtained by post by paying through a DD of Rs. 325/- (for open category) and Rs. 225/- (for reserved category). The DD should be drawn in favor of "The Registrar University of Pune", payable at Pune.

Important Dates:

- Last date for receipt of completed application forms for ATMA: January 17, 2008
- Last Date of receipt of completed forms for GD/PI at PUMBA April 28th 2008
- GD/PI at PUMBA, Pune: May 26, 2008 onwards
- Admission counseling at PUMBA: June 23, 2008
- Program commences: July 15, 2008
