TANCET 2009 : Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test for MBA, MCA etc

Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test or TANCET is conducted for admissions to Masters Degree program in different colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu.

Eligibility Criteria

• For MBA, candidates must have passed 10+2 and at the same time must have bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 year duration. Diploma holder students are also eligible to write the test.

• For MCA, candidates must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics as the main subject and at the same time must have bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 year duration. Diploma holder students are also eligible to write the test.

• For ME, M. Tech, candidates must have passed 10+2 and must have a bachelor’s degree in Technology or Engineering.

How to spot the easier questions during CAT?

As the general advice is to do the easy questions, students tend to frantically search for easy questions in the paper. If you too are doing it, chances are that you probably will actually miss a lot of questions that are easy. We surely cannot spot all the easy questions by just glancing through the paper and attempting what looks to be easy.

A more effective approach would be to read the problem one by one from the start of the section. After you read and understand a problem, you decide if you think the time you spend on this problem will quickly give you results. If you can’t spot how to do it soon enough, go to the next question.

This way, you let questions come to you and you decide what to attempt and what not to. At the same time, you need to ensure that you go at a steady pace, which will ensure that you read all the questions. This way, you will not miss any easy questions.

Experts Answer to the Queries of CAT 2008 Aspirants

As only few days are left for the CAT Exam, students have lot of queries in mind. So i have found this article to be very useful.

MBAUniverse.com Aspirant Zone organized a live Expert Chat on 'Countdown to CAT: 30-days Strategy to Crack CAT' on October 18, 2008. The chat was organized to discuss how students should plan for next 30-days of CAT '08, to be held on November 16.
CAT experts from test-prep companies like TIME, Career Launcher and IMS Learning participated in this chat. On the MBAUniverse.com expert chat, Mr Gejo Srinivasan, General Manager, IMS Test Prep answered lots of queries posted by MBA aspirants from around the country on October 18.

While responding to a query on 'How to prepare for last 30 days to CAT', Mr Srinivasan said, "In the last 30 days, mainly concentrate on improving your test taking skills. Do not take too many tests, 7 to 8 tests with a thorough analysis must be sufficient. What is more important is that you should analyse your performance in each and every test and use the learning to improve your performance in the next test. Do not try too many different strategies. Understand that you cannot use someone else's strategy to crack the CAT. You need to build your own strategy based on your strengths and weaknesses."

Mr Srinivasan holds the degree of PGDM from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta and a B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. At IMS, he has been instrumental in launching ICAP (Interlinked Concepts and Application Based Pedagogy) -- a new approach to learning and taking CAT.

Here is the edited transcript from the students-chat with Mr Gejo Srinivasan on October 18 on MBAUniverse.com:

Gauri: Hello Sir. What is your advice on how to prepare for last 30 days to CAT.? Please elaborate.

Mr Srinivasan: In the last 30 days, mainly concentrate on improving your test taking skills. Do not take too many tests, 7 to 8 tests with a thorough analysis must be sufficient. What is more important is that you should analyse your performance in each and every test and use the learning to improve your performance in the next test. Do not try too many different strategies. Understand that you cannot use someone else's strategy to crack the CAT. You need to build your own strategy based on your strengths and weaknesses.

Rahul: On the basis of last 2-3 years of CAT exam, I wish to know that how would be the difficulty level in each of the sections. Please comment
Mr Srinivasan: The difficulty level of the various sections varies every year. The Quant section of CAT 2006 was relatively easier compared to 2005 or 2007. The verbal section of 2006 was much tougher than that of the previous years. So, do not speculate. Be assured that everyone is taking the same test: so if some section is easy it is so for everyone and if some section is tough it is so for everyone. It is relative performance that finally matters.

Onkar: I'm a 3rd year Engineering student. I have above average skills in most of the areas, I still need practice. As I have 2 yrs for my graduation, what methodologies (plan) will help me to crack CAT?

Mr Srinivasan: I would suggest that you should take the free preliminary test at any of the IMS centres to evaluate where you stand w.r.t competition vis-a-vis CAT. This test is closely based on the CAT and will also give you a fair idea of what it takes to clear the CAT. Your performance in the test can then be used to chart the future course of action.

Raghav: I am in a mindset to give CAT next year. From next year, CAT would be going online. What should one expect on pattern, difficulty level etc... How is IMS planning to offer particular type of preparation for online CAT.? Thanks

Mr Srinivasan: Understand that whether the CAT goes online or not, the skills that will be assessed by the CAT won't change. So the fundamental preparation required to build conceptual clarity does not change. Do not mull over what would be the pattern/difficulty level etc. Leave this thought process to the IIMs. You concentrate on building a strong conceptual base. Test taking skills (paper based or online) can be built in the last stage of preparation, i.e. 3 months before the CAT.

Sambhav: How to improve Quant area in next 4 weeks. Rest I am confident.
Mr Srinivasan: Work on your weak "areas" and "question types" by doing a thorough analysis of the tests you take.. Out of these, concentrate only on topics that occur very frequently (do not practise probability, etc) Then you can fix one of these topics for every day and practise problems on only that type on that day. Solve Qs in sets of 5 Qs and track your progress.

Ritu: Hello sir, what would be your last minute tips on CAT prep. What are the important things one has to keep in mind while attempting the paper...Thanks a lot....

Mr Srinivasan: Following are the tips while attempting the paper:
1. Arrive early for the test (not just CAT, even SimCATs)
2. Choose a spot and ensure that you have enough room to work, maintain a comfortable posture while taking the test, don't "slouch".
3. Remind yourself that you are well-prepared and are going to do well. If you find that you are anxious, take several slow, deep breaths to relax. Don't talk about the test to other students before the test; remember anxiety is contagious.

Sambhav: Sir, should I read/scan the full paper on CAT day, or should I go section by Section. Scan full paper will take 10 minutes or so. Is it worth the investment? Also how much time to give to each question before rejecting it and moving forward?

Mr Srinivasan: As you open the test booklet, first glance through the pages to see if all the pages are printed properly. If not, get the test booklet changed. In the process also note the order of the sections. This should not take more than a minute. Then as per a pre-decided strategy, solve the various sections in your preferred order giving almost equal (if not equal) time to each of them. Whilst solving each section, questions can be solved in any order( Algebra first or one-liners first or DS first) For each question, read what is given, understand what has to be found and ask yourself whether you know the right approach to reach the answer. This should not take more than 40 sec to 1 min per question. Once you are confident that you can solve the question, go ahead and actually solve the question.

Prakash: After CAT, how to work on XAT and FMS Delhi test sir?

Mr Srinivasan: Preparing for any test has three major steps – 1. Know the test 2. Learn the concepts that are assessed in the test 3. Develop good test-taking skills. In terms of areas assessed FMS and XAT are very similar to the CAT. These tests only vary in terms of test structure and difficulty level. So orient yourself to the test structures of these tests and plan a strategy for these tests. You need not take too man practice tests for the other tests if you have prepared well for the CAT. Remember, if you have prepared for the best, you can take any test!!

Dilip: What is the importance of appearing in other MBA entrance exams like XAT, IIFT, FMS etc…while I have am giving CAT as well? How do you see these exams different from CAT?
Mr Srinivasan: It is interesting to note that most of the tests mentioned above assess more or less the same concepts that are tested on the CAT. Hence, you will find that there is really not much difference when it comes to concept building for any of these tests. However, the various tests differ in terms of the test structure, question types and overall difficulty level of the test. Therefore, we only need to understand the test structure, get acclimatized to the different question types and develop specific strategies to ace these tests. More often than not, if you have prepared well enough for the CAT, then there is a high chance that you will perform well in the other tests.

Pune University MBA in Biotechnology

MBA (Biotechnology) is an upcoming discipline, integrating Biotechnology and Management. The Department of Management Sciences, University of Pune has pioneered a two year full time MBA (Biotechnology) degree program since 2002 (intake capacity 60 seats), along with its two year full time MBA program running successfully since 1971.

Eligibility: The candidate should have a Bachelor,s or Master,s degree in Science (Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Marine Biology, Microbiology, and Zoology), Agriculture, Ayurved, Medicine, Engineering, Pharmacy, Technology, and Veterinary Sciences from a statutory university.

General English : There were all usage based questions in VA and all the RC passages had direct questions. Two Reasoning questions (one CR & the other syllogisms) were included in the Analytical Reasoning.

Quantitative & DI & DS : Calculations involved in Quantitative section were simple. Out of five DI sets, three were observation/simple calculation based. The other two were moderately difficult and time consuming.

General Awareness : This section included questions based on General Knowledge, Current Affairs & Business Scenario covering politics, sport, history, trade, etc.

Analytical & LR : An entirely scoring section with arrangements ,puzzles and Visual Reasoning questions.

CAT 2007 Detailed Analysis of Each Section

As the instructions for CAT2007 were being announced over the PA system, many a student would have been contemplating as to what the monster called CAT could throw at them, this year, in terms of the surprise element. The surprise, on the face of it, seemed to turn out to be a damp squib, as the paper was “on the lines” of CAT2006 – with no deviation in the number of questions, the marking scheme or the pattern. However, the adage - “do not judge a book by its cover” rang true and loud. The paper was full of surprises on the inside and left many a student stumped and dazed!!

However the students of T.I.M.E. would have faced this paper in a much more composed manner when compared to the unfortunate many who missed out on the steep learning curve of the AIMCATs!! This is because the students had, by virtue of having taken the AIMCAT’s and analyzed each one extensively, already become quite familiar with many possible patterns of papers that were very closely similar and in fact even exactly identical as the CAT2007 paper.
A careful analysis of the paper reveals that the Verbal Ability section, though shorn of the vile ‘FIJs’ continued to don an “infer-me-if-you-can” look – one that it had adopted in CAT2006. The QA section came back with all guns blazing and would have taken many hostages and thereby regained its aura of toughness. The Logic and Data Interpretation section did a complete volte face and went right back to the ‘calculation intensive days of yore. Though this section was the easiest of the three in this paper, students, unfortunately, could not exploit it to the fullest, considering the time consuming nature of the calculations that were required. Another, last but not the least of the observations was the fact that questions on Data Sufficiency made a come back, after a hiatus of a full two years, that too in a very big way. In fact, both QA and L&DI sections saw DS questions appearing in a generous measure, albeit with a different set of DS directions. These DS questions, further, turned out to be a definite life saver in each of the two sections.

Let us now take a closer look at each of the three sections in the paper:

Quantitative Aptitude

If one had started to think that the Quant section of the CAT had, in any respect, lost it’s “sting” or that it no longer struck terror in the hearts of the test taker’s, then one was in for a rude shock in this year’s QA section. The section was not only the most difficult in the paper; it was also, undoubtedly, the most difficult QA section to appear in the last several years. A cursory look at the questions in this section itself was sufficient to make an average CAT aspirant’s heart sink. The questions, were very evidently “tough” and finding a “familiar” question seemed to almost impossible. The emphasis was clearly on a thorough understanding of and proficiency in the concepts of QA and also on very high presence of mind – to glean the basic issue out of a seemingly complicated question in a very short time.

However, the section was not without its usual share of easy/doable questions – the adage that ‘no matter how difficult a section, there will always be a few easy questions in it’ seemed to hold true even in this case. There were about seven or eight elementary questions, some evidently easy and some others, disguised to seem ‘not so easy’. Identifying and correctly solving even five to six of these questions would have been sufficient to scrape through the paper – needless to say that another couple of questions in addition to these seven or eight would put one in a very high percentile range.

Some of the questions in this section that one should have identified and attempted were: the question on average of even and odd integers, the one on average age of a family, all the four questions on Data Sufficiency, the one on n teams of k players each, the prices of two varieties of tea, the two intersecting circles, and even the question on the maximum value attained by a quadratic function. Some of the other questions that seemed difficult, but could possibly have been ‘cracked’ within a reasonable amount of time (under the exam pressure) were the kind which involved numerical substitution. Some such questions were the set on ‘friends’ and enemies’ of members in a set and the set of questions on a and b, defined as recursive functions of p and q.

On the whole, a student with an average ability in QA could have managed just about 14+ marks in this section and any score from 19 to 30 can be considered to be good. Any score from 31 to 50 would be very good, and 50+, excellent.

The cutoff for this section is expected to be in the range of 19-21 marks.

Logic and Data Interpretation

The L & DI section of CAT2007 was a distinct departure from the trend of reasoning based DI sets, observed over the past few years. The questions in this section were, contrary to most expectations, not very reasoning intensive. Almost all the sets involved considerable calculations. Also, there would have been a certain sense of discomfort felt by most students due to one or two sets which seemed to call for one’s judgment to be exercised in understanding and manipulating the data given. The one major relief in this paper was that in most of the sets, the data did not take much effort to understand but the calculation intensive nature of the sets sort of made up for this concession.

The set on the ‘Actual costs incurred by a company’ was tricky and would have required quite a bit of effort to solve. Students would have been wondering as to where the catch was when they saw the set on ‘Students in a school’ – but one has to believe that CAT is not all about the difficult questions, there always are sitters in every CAT and this was no exception. The set on “Cost of major surgeries” was very easy and students should have been able to solve at least two of the four questions. The set on “Low Cost Airline” had a lot of guile and deception and, if one was not careful, could have resulted in quite a few errors. The set on the “Health drink company” involved very tedious calculations and at the end of it all, one could have still picked up the wrong answer, if the question was not understood properly. Over the years, Data Sufficiency had always provided succor to the students and it was no different this time, with three of them being absolute sitters.

On the whole, a student with an average ability in DI could have managed a score of about 22+ marks in this section and any score from 30 to 44 can be considered to be good. A score in the range of 45 to 60 would be very good, and 60+, excellent.

The cutoff for this section is expected to be in the range of 30-32 marks.

Verbal Ability

After the nightmare of CAT2006, students this year were seen praying fervently for a deliverance from this monster. Their prayers were definitely answered in that the FIJ questions were nowhere to be seen, but alas this joy was short-lived. The laconic monster of 2006 was replaced by the very verbose and very ‘abstract’ devil called “Reading Comprehension”. If there is any word to describe the RC passages in this section, it would be ‘excruciating’. The passages were very painful to read and almost impossible to comprehend; added to this were five very close choices which would have forced many students to give up the ghost!!
All those who had counted on the Verbal area to salvage this section would have been thoroughly mauled (for the sheer lack of a more sinister word). The grammar questions would have stumped even the best experts of grammar and the Paragraph completion questions were tricky in the choices. The saving grace were the Para Jumble questions and the questions on ‘words/phrases’.

The four RC passages on “Paradigms in Scientific Traditions”, “Expressions of Experience”, “Ethnology” and “Sociology” were straight from hell(!) with most of them being so dense as to give serious competition to the densest element on this planet!! The students would have found that reading the philosophical treatises of Plato or the Psycho Analysis of Freud to be child’s play compared to what was on offer today! None of the four passages can be classified as ‘easy’ or ‘doable’. The very fact that the experts have had to slog it out for many hours to generate the key to these passages would attest to the difficulty level, and hence low cutoff, of this section and surely, it was by no means ‘easy’ as some would have it. All said and done, attempting around six to seven questions in two out of the four passages, with a strike rate of about 60%, would be quite an achievement – translating into a score of around 10 to 12 marks.

On the whole, a student with an average ability in VA could have managed a score of about 10+ marks in this section and any score from 18 to 30 can be considered to be good. A score in the range of 31 to 40 would be very good, and 40+, excellent.

The cutoff for this section is expected to be in the range of 18-20 marks.

The overall cutoff for at least one IIM call would be around 88-90 marks.

Be Prepared for the Surprise factor in CAT 2007

Over the years, CAT has kept on bringing new surprises for test takers. We have witnessed several changes in the CAT pattern since its inception.

The greatest example is the sudden change that was brought in the tradition of giving equal number of questions in each section in CAT 2004 together with the change in the internal weightage of the questions.

This was highly surprising for the test takers who had become accustomed to attempting the CAT with questions carrying equal weightage. They never practised on a new CAT pattern until the C-Day in 2004.

Hence it becomes very important to have an overview of the last CATs before sitting for CAT 2007.

The examination experts at TCY have summarised the last 7 CATs in order to study trend. The summary will help us
evaluate our preparation vis- -vis the different types of CAT that happened in the past.

The Following table sums up the "Surprise" factor that has always made CAT a bit difficult to handle, even though the questions in it may not be that difficult.

An overview of the decreasing number of questions in a CAT on one side and increasing time per question on the other since 2000 shows that the trend is for good. The trend can be extrapolated further to predict that CAT 2007 may be a relief for the test takers as regards the total time they will get to solve a question.

However, the attached table also shows that beyond CAT 2003 all the questions do not carry the same weightage. There had been an introduction and subsequent internal changes in the weightage of the questions in CAT 2004, 2005 and 2006.

This makes it important for the test taker to practise choosing the right questions to attempt in the round one and two of his attempt.

The changing levels of difficulty

Looking at the difficulty level column in table prepared by TCY experts, one finds that CAT 2000 was the most difficult of the lot. Hence analyses of the previous CAT patterns as regards the difficulty level of the sections (and for that matter, the complete test) can be done in a scale of 10 by taking CAT 2000 as the most difficult (Scoring 9). Let's just have a brief review of the same.

Hence the bar graph above shows that barring CAT 2000 and 2004 all the CATs stand at 7 on the scale of 10. It is highly recommended to that CAT aspirants that they must have a look over the two most difficult CATs in order to counter the effects of a difficult CAT pattern.

To sum up it is seen that over the period of time, overall CAT difficulty level in terms of the questions have remained more or less same but it is the Surprise factor which is making students nervous and thus adding to the difficulty level of CAT. Therefore, a review of all the previous CAT (especially CAT 2000 and 2004) is vital to give a finishing touch
to your preparation.

Eligibilty Criteria for AIPMT Entrance Examination 2008:

1. He/She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year M.B.B.S./DENTAL Course and is an INDIAN NATIONAL.

2. The upper age limit for All India Pre-Medical /Pre-Dental Entrance Examination is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/Schedule Tribes/Other Backward Classes.

3. The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination shall be limited to 3 (three) uniformly for all the candidates.

The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% for General Candidates. Those who are taking plus two examination in 2008 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later.

The All India MCA Common Entrance Test (AIMCET) is the entrance examination generally conducted by IIT's for admission to Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Program offered by IIT's and many leading Universities and Colleges.

The All India MCA Common Entrance Test (AIMCET) is a National Level Test being conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. When two numbers are to be multiplied whose unit’s digits sum up to 10 and other digits apart from the unit’s digit are same.

e.g. 163 X 167 Here the unit’s digits sum up to 10 (7+3) and the other digits are same (16). The rule here is same as above for squaring. The rightmost part of the answer will be the product of the numbers in unit’s place i.e. (7 X 3) = 21. The leftmost part will be the product of the digit in the other places and it’s immediately following number, i.e. (16 X 17) = 272.
The required answer is 27221.

e.g. 149 X 141
Applying the same rule as above the rightmost part will be (9X1) = 09. (Remember the right part has to be always filled with two digits, so it is “09”). The right part will be (14 X 15) = 210. The required answer is 21009.

When two numbers close to 10, 100, 1000 etc are to be multiplied.
e.g. 106 X 104
Here the Base is taken as 100, and the surplus is 6 and 4 in the two numbers respectively. Now the rightmost part of the answer will be (6 X 4 = 24). Note that since the base has 2 zeros the rightmost part has to occupy 2 places.
The left part of the answer will be the sum of any one of the two numbers and the surplus in the other number, i.e. (106+4) OR (104+6) = 110.
The required answer is 11024

We can similarly do such multiplications with any base (10, 100, 1000...etc.)

USE OF VEDIC MATHS

Vedic Mathematics is the name given to the ancient system of Mathematics which was rediscovered from the Vedas between 1911 and 1918 by Sri Bharati Krsna Tirthaji (1884-1960). According to his research all of mathematics is based on sixteen Sutras, or word-formulae. For example, 'Vertically and Crosswise` is one of these Sutras. Vedic Maths is a science that helps to make calculations faster and easier. If one is aware of a few rules of vedic maths then long multiplications can become short and can be easily solved mentally.

Common Admission Test (CAT)

CAT is considered to be one of the toughest exam in India and the CAT score is also accepted by many other prestigious B- Schools for admission to their courses (S.P. Jain, MDI, etc)

CAT primarily tests you on English Usage, Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation & is an objective paper. However the format of the paper is not constant and one can be sure of surprises in CAT year after year. Number of questions ranges from 75 (in 2006) to 185 (in CAT 1995). Not only are the number of questions varying but also changes can be in the number of sections, presence or absence of time limits for each section, types of questions in a particular section, etc. CAT is held on 3rd Sunday of November.

A very important aspect of CAT is that a student has to clear a sectional cut-off in each section, in addition to an overall cut-off. Thus if a student is good in English and scores 50/50 in English but cannot clear the cut-off in the Math section, he would not be receiving an interview call letter. Thus time management among sections becomes very important, as the goal is not only to maximize score but also clear cut-offs in each section.

The cut-offs in each section vary from year to year depending on the difficulty level. The IIMs do not disclose the cut-offs and hence no one is absolutely sure of the cut-offs. However it has been observed that correctly answering 45% questions in each section has been good enough to clear the cut-offs.

Guessing wildly in CAT would work to your disadvantage as there is negative marking in CAT. CAT marks the beginning of B-School entrance tests. Then onwards, there is a test (sometimes two) almost every Sunday till February 1st Sunday. Preparing for CAT would also mean 90% preparation for other tests.

IMPORTANCE OF RECIPROCAL VALUES

One of the oldest MBA programs in India, FMS has placements comparable to any other top B School. The flip side is that being affiliated to a university, it does not enjoy enough flexibility in its operations and also is not a fully residential program.
FMS has its own entrance test and is generally held on 2nd Sunday of January. The pattern of the paper is mostly similar to other exams and it also has a section on Business Awareness.

A intensive program that requires a student to work closely with as many as four different companies for project work and also being on the forefront on social work like lending a helping hand in the Orissa floods and the Gujarat earthquake, definitely adds a lot of value to the students. However the only specialization offered is PM & IR.

The institute offers specialization in Marketing Management, Finance Management, Manufacturing Management, International Business and Information Management. The only slight drawback for a student is that he has to choose a specialization while applying to the institute and would be considered only for that specialization. At most other B Schools one has to choose a specialization only after the first year, when one would have a decent idea about all specializations. The school accepts the CAT score for admission purpose and sets its own Cut-off. Every candidate has to go through a Group discussion (GD) followed by a Personal Interview (PI).

Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai (JBIMS)

Located in the commercial capital of India does help JBIMS in its placement and is another institute definitely worth applying to. By being affiliated to the University of Mumbai, not only does it lose on the flexibility in operations, but also has to follow the reservation rules laid down by the Directorate of Technical Education. Thus only 15% of seats are available for a student graduating from any other University in Maharashtra than Mumbai University and only 10% for students graduating from outside Maharashtra. So admission to this school is very tough because of less number of seats for candidates from other states. The admission to JBIMS is through Common Entrance Test (CET).

Xavier's Labor Relation Institute, Jamshedpur (XLRI)

As the name suggests the institute specializes in and is the best for Personnel Management and Industrial Relations (PM&IR). However, its BMD program for other specializations like Marketing, Finance is also as good as the IIMs. Like the IIMs XLRI has its own entrance test (XAT). The XAT is also the entrance test for Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar.

IIMs are autonomous institutes set up by Human Resource ministry of Government of India and are undoubtedly the best of the lot. There are six IIMs namely Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Bangalore, Lucknow, Khozikode and Indore. The institutes offer a Post Graduate Diploma in Management and are fully residential programs.

The top four IIMs (Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Bangalore and Lucknow) are way above the other two and are considered the country’s top 4 by most surveys. IIMA is the best of the lot and is one of the best in the world, as a result of which the placements are at times beyond comprehension.
